Our Approach

Deforestation has many causes, so the Alliance for a Million Hectares is approaching reforestation efforts in a variety of ways: improving management of protected areas, removing exotic plants, creating wildlife corridors, passing legislation to protect vital habitats, and implementing sustainable use practices for agriculture and timber harvesting.

Many of these activities are beyond the scope of ADOPTA’s mission, however. We mainly help with reforestation efforts by removing exotic plants and replanting native tree species with the help of an army of volunteers. Learn more about our process below!
