Our Approach

Our Approach

Panama is such a diverse country that any single approach to conservation would be hopelessly inadequate!

This may seem obvious from an environmental perspective – birds are very different from salamanders, for example, and will require different approaches to their conservation – but Panama’s diverse human communities are also a significant factor. If local communities are not invested in nature, protection efforts are likely to fail long-term.

To balance these different needs and save Panama’s unique biodiversity in the long-term, we utilize a four-pronged approach:

Protection

Research

Education

Outreach
