Identification

A small species of ladybug (about 2 mm long).

Male: Recognized by its yellow head with a black central mark (small enough to keep a yellow border around the eyes). Also, no other Neaporia species is known to have a yellow-bordered black pronotum.

Female: Unknown.

Biology and Natural History

Habitat: Montane forest 1200 - 1400 m in elevation.

Etymology

It takes its name from the Cerro Chucantí Reserve, where the first specimen was collected from.
